Avo Fest 2019!

Who isn’t intrigued by an avocado festival – it's every Millennials dream come true!

A place where you can fulfill all your avocado dreams of eating avocado ice-cream, playing games with avocados, putting your best guac forward in a guacamole-making competition, and learning to cook with avos from a celebrity chef?

Avo Fest is on this Saturday 14 September in the village of Blackbutt, an hour and a half inland from Caboolture.

The festival is a celebration of the delicious avocados grown around Blackbutt. There is no other avocado festival like it in Australia!

What’s On

This year’s festival includes:

  • A parachutist landing in a giant avocado shape in the Showgrounds arena

  • Cooking demonstrations with celebrity chef Jason Ford

  • Kids Central fun activities

  • Avo games and competitions

  • Avo Grow displays and demonstrations

  • Best avocado costume competition

  • Ken Mills Street Parade

  • Live local music and buskers

  • Market stalls, food stalls and wine alley

  • XXXX Woodchop and Woodcutters Bar

  • Machinery Alley

  • Avo-Go crafting competition and displays

Weather + What to Bring

The weather is expected to be absolutely perfect at around 27C so bring your sunscreen, hat and refillable water bottle, plus a bag in case you find something fun to take home.

Dress up as an avo if you want to join in the Best Avocado Costume Competition, but don’t worry if you don’t have the right gear, Avocado Central has fun and quirky avo-themed shirts, ties, and jewellery to get you up to speed!

Find out how to get to Blackbutt from your home here. Blackbutt is 2 hours from Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, 2.5 from Maryborough, 1.75 hours from Toowoomba and not far from Dalby and Kingaroy.
